Saas-Fee/Saastal und Black Diamond neue Partner ab September

Köln, 01. September 2011 – In die Wanderstiefel, fertig, los – und einfach nur genießen! „Best of Wandern“, kurz „BoW“, steht für besten Wanderservice sowie unvergessliche Wandererlebnisse mit Herz. Das „Best of“ gibt es nicht auf dem Papier, sondern in der Praxis: Die europäische Wanderkooperation aus unterschiedlichen Branchen verleiht kostenlos modernes Markenequipment an ihre Gäste. Darunter in 2012 auch Trekkingstöcke und Stirnlampen eines amerikanischen Bergsportausrüsters: Black Diamond ist neuer BoW-Partner.
Ebenso wie die Region Saas-Fee/Saastal, das autofreie Gletscherdorf in der Schweiz, das mit einem Panorama auf 18 Viertausender sowie einem 350-kilometerweiten Wanderwegenetz punkten kann. Insgesamt vereint BoW jetzt 20 Partner aus acht Ländern.

SAAS-FEE/SAASTAL Alpines Erlebniswandern vor großer Kulisse

Wie eine kostbare Perle ist das Saastal mit seinen Orten Saas-Fee, Saas-Grund, Saas-Almagell und Saas-Balen von hohen, vergletscherten Drei- und Viertausendern umfasst.
Seilbahnen surren über blumenreiche Alpwiesen bis auf Höhen von mehr als 3.500 Metern und ermöglichen eine Vielzahl ganz unterschiedlicher Touren.

Best of Hiking - THE European hiking cooperation

A mixture of professional preparation, innovation and hospitality: This is what Best of Hiking, a cooperation of European hiking regions, manufacturers of equipment, travel agents and online-shops, stands for. Since the beginning of 2007 we have been offering hiking materials to be used by visitors free of charge in our destinations.



Our goal is to offer the best hiking experience possible for our guests. But this is what other associations, initiatives, competitors, and outdoor specialists want, too. What makes us different from them?



•   Uniqueness: We combine the best parts of all hiking-worlds and bring together experts for tourism and outdoor-suppliers, travel agents and hiking fans. In doing so we turn the ‘Best-of’ into a ‘Test-in’: You are asked to challenge us.



•   The result: We take hiking experience to a new level. Travellers can get advice, for example on their individual hiking route, free of charge in our test centers. You can borrow equipment free of charge or simply refill your water bottles.



The focus: The hiker is at our center of attention. His route is made exciting, his equipment perfect, his tour unforgettable.
What is there to improve, for example regarding local signage or the accuracy of fit of backpacks? Compare your experience with other hikers and start blogging. Get information from the newsletter, from Facebook or twitter. Take part in a hiking ralley or choose from our latest offer, various hiking events offering true emotional experience.



•   The Events: We think that unforgettable hiking experience cannot result from coincidence, but from having the right equipment, being guided by reliable signage, as well as enjoying different types of scenery on the way, for example when: 

1. taking part in a snow-shoe and Eskimo-event the Ammergau Alps. Part of the experience will be an expert on how to build an igloo sent by the company Kochalpin as well as snow shoes made by Tubbs and jackets made by Bergans.

2. taking part in a tour in the Muellerthal region in Luxembourg and explore nature using the latest binoculars from Zeiss.

3. being in Winterberg in a trekking- und outdoorcamp with survival-experten Peter Kramer as well as and tents backpacks made by Vaude and trekking poles made by Leki.

4. being in the region „Am jungen Rhein“ in Switzerland taking part in Geocaching-events or enjoying family-outdoor-days.

5. being in the Hochschwarzwald (Black Forest) and taking part in the first alpine hike offering firework displays at the Schluchsee.
