Panoramic via-ferrate "Lienzer Dolomites" (fixed rope route)

Climbing uphill from the hut "Dolomitenhuette" in Lienz (1) to the hut called Karlsbader Huette everybody will realize that the Dolomites start in East Tyrol. The white limestone walls, pinnacles and towers reach high up above your head into the sky, leaving a great impression. This feeling grows even stronger while on the Rudl-Eller-path which is partly secured by iron ropes. If you want to test your nerves at this point on the hike already you may choose the "Piccola Ferrata" (2) which runs parallel to the path. There you can test your skills for the things that lie ahead. If the easy but breezy version of ascending the mountain causes problems you should now and no later decide to "only" aim at reaching the Karlsbader Huette hut (3) or stay on the regular path to the wall of the Laserz (4/1). But those via-ferrata users with alpine hiking experience should use the Alpine Club's house at the beautiful lake Laserzsee as base camp for at least two via-ferrata rounds. The "star" of the via ferratas in Lienz ist he panoramic via-ferrata. After having reached the Kleiner Laserztumr (5/1) coming form the Karlsbader Huette hut (5/1) the memorial path "Sepp-Oberlechner" crosses the tower-studded ridge until it reaches the Grossen Sandspitze (6/1), the highest mountaintop of the Lienz Dolomites. You can get back to the hut on the steep path called "Ari Schuebel" which is easier but no less exposed.
