Hiking through rocks or forests at "Luetzelstein"-castleStarting from the parking lot at the tourist information at the entrance of the historic town ("Staedtel") of La Petite-Pierre (1) you can venture out on an interesting circular hike through almost untouched, wild forest landscapes and onto rocks and observation platforms. Passing the rocky towers of the Rocher Blanc (2) and the Rocher des Païens you will reach the idyllic valley where the historic mill of the Imsthal is located. An almost perfect opportunity to rest and reward yourself with a hearty snack is offered by the Auberge d'Imsthal right next to the road you are walking on. Then you may take on ascending onto the plateau of the "Breitschloss". A highpoint of this hiking tour is a short detour to Hundsprung (4) made possible by two adventurous wooden bridges. At the animal protection center of Loosthal (5) you will find a small trail through different animal care centers where you can experience the animal kingdom of the Vosges. Strolling through the streets of La Petite-Pierre to Luetzelstein-castle which was founded at the end of the 12th century by Count Hugo is a must. If you want to shorten this hike you may climb directly to La Petite-Pierre from the Imsthal (3) on the GR 53 road via Rocher Corbeau. In the opposite direction the GR 53 will lead you to the cliff dwellings of the Graufthal (6).
