Beaufort castle

And idyllic castle, creeks and valleys

Tour number 3 of the official Mullerthal Trail starts at famous Beaufort Castle (1) and its neighbouring castle ruin and from there leads us through the countryside around the municipality of Beaufort characterized by rocks, creeks, valleys and great views. North of Beaufort the path will lead us past the small chapel „Klaisgen“ (2), before it hits the woodland of  Saueruecht where it leads us to observation point after observation point offering a view of the valley of the Sauer.
Small wooden bridges, lush moss-covered areas and huge rocks accompany us on this part of the hike through the valley of Halerbach (3) and Haupeschbach (4). The difference in temperature and the suddenly damp and humid air can be felt very well when hiking through the rocks towering high above us. Back at Beaufort Castle (1) one should definitely take a tour of the castle and see the multivision-show and also try the liquors made there by hand (especially the Cassero).
