Val Frisal

Fascinating glacier valley

graubuenden frisal 01

90 % of the Brigelsers speak ‚Romanic’. Little wonder then that lots of signs seem foreign. The more friendly the kind greeting „bun di“ seems on our way into the Val Frisal. Those hikers arriving on a bus or – better yet – spend the night in the village (1) will take the chair lift early in the morning to Crest Falla-Burleun (2), will then hike easily downhill into the valley of the Flem (3), hike uphill again at the Wildbach and will find it hard to trust their eyes after the last upswing: Val Frisal (4) – one of the most fascinating glacier valleys of the Alps! The Frisal glacier is sparkling in the early morning sun at the colossal closure of the valley, flanked by Bifertenstock to the right and Cavistrau to the left. The early bird catches the worm! There are two possibilities for the able hikers: an indirect route along the way there via Rubi Sura (5) including a magnificent mountain view and steep descent into the valley, and the way back via the alpine huts of Tschegn Dado (6) to Brigels (1).
