Four-lake hike around Flims

Through the magical Flimserwal (forest) to the Rheinschlucht (gulch)

Rheinschlucht, Brigels

Four greenish-blue mountain lakes in a fairy-tale forest, two of them including an open air swimming pool, an observation point hovering 400 meters above the Rheinschlucht and a whispering stream running through a gorge. What else is there to see on one single hike? Starting point of this of this adventurous hike is at the Wanderparkplatz in Flims-Waldhaus (1). Before we go to the Caumasee and spend time in the open air swimming pool we take a detour to the idyllic Lag Prau Pulté (2). Then we will hike back a short part on the way we came, across the main road and downhill to the Lag Tuleritg (3). Both lakes are interconnected through an elaborate underground water system. The Caumasee (4) also hides a hydrological secret: there is neither an inflow nor an outflow to be found above the ground, but there is a large lido including a boat rental. After that we will hike through the magical Flimser Wald to the clearing Conn (5), where the enourmous Rheinschlucht (roman. Ruinaulta) abruptly opens up. This was excavated by the river into the gigantic landslide area over the course of the past 10.000 years. The observation platform „Il Spir“ presents us with a spectacular look downward. „Il Spir“ translates „swift“ and rightly so. Not far away there is the Cretasee (6) where we are awaited by another lido. After that we will hike back through the Felsbachschlucht (gulch), next to swooshing waterfalls.
