GreinaLoneliness in its most beautiful form
If the people in Graubünden weren’t so associated with their homeland and nature-loving, Greina would be long gone. This unique plateau measuring six kilometers in length and one kilometer in width would have been lost to the waters of a dam and gone forever. The one who reaches the Pass Diesrut (2) after a long uphill climb from Vrin-Puzzatsch (1), the last village of the Val Lumnezia, and can hear the quietude will understand why twenty years ago people protested so fiercely for this cause. And whoever can invest three days of his or her life and brings alpine Know-How should spend the night in the SAC’s Terri-Hut twice (3), climb the 3.045 meter Piz Terri (5), hikes across its north western ridge conquering only one single difficult spot and hikes across the Greina (4) on the third day to the for the most time uncultivated Capanna Scaletta (6). One last view of the plateau and its glaciers, then a wonderful feeling will carry you through the Val Camadra to Campo (Blenio) (7), into the sun of Tessin.
